Until Death Do You Part...
Well... here is a picture of what we were doing three years ago today. :) In many ways it feels like yesterday, but in others it seems that we have been together forever. It has been an amazing three years, full of challenges and adventures. I can't wait for the rest of the journey. I love you Andrew! Happy Anniversary.
Christmas Workout
The Zetterholm family spent the day after Christmas helping A's brother move to Charlotte, who will be attending UNC beginning in January. We worked off all of Christmas Dinner, Christmas Breakfast, and Christmas Eve Dinner and then some...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We had a wonderful Christmas with A's family and the Goodrum Family from our Church. The day was filled with laughter, games and food. And right as we were leaving we were serenaded by carolers. I am so thankful for friends and family with whom I can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Lord and Savior. May we live each day remembering what Christ has done. Oh Christmas Tree
I know it is a little late to be posting a picture of our Christmas Tree, but it is still before Christmas, and it is so beautiful I just had to share. So here is a picture of our lovely tree, which we cut and hauled down ourselves from the tippy top of a mountain in WNC... did I mention it was in the pouring rain. We won't forget it any time soon... and it was worth every minute in the rain and mud, it made it ours. I love decorating it. I buy ornaments whenever I travel, so I get to relive so many memories every year when we decorate the tree. Andrew's mom also put and ornament in a box every year until he got married (mostly homemade as you will see below) so we now have enough ornaments to decorate at least the front half of the tree. Children
So...listening to the radio today, I heard something amusing...
"You think you're ready for kids?
Well, first smear peanut butter all over the new couch and rub it in.
Second, leave two half-eaten fish sticks behind the bed for the whole summer.
And third, take two animals, preferably small goats, into the local grocery store, picking up everything they knock over, and paying for everything they eat or destroy...
And then come tell me you are ready for kids!"

Toilets down... Everything else to go!
On Day 1088...
Well, we have been at a little bit of a standstill on the house. We applied for the septic permit and in typical government fashion there is a 6 week wait... augh! So... we didn't want to close on the loan until we made sure that the house plan was going to work on the lot, and we couldn't begin doing anything on the land until we have signed for the construction loan... so... here we are. (Gone are the days where you drove your wagon to the top of the hill and claimed it, and then promptly killed anyone who tried to take it from you. When did all this paperwork become part of the process?) Well, the septic permit man finally came, so we should be able to get the ball rolling by the end of the week... as long as nobody decides to take off early for Christmas that is! Everything in the building process seems to be guided by the "hurry-up and wait" principle. I have the hurry-up part down... but the waiting thing is not my forte. Next step: excavation and pricing framing material... yippee!

- Still having to work
- Getting my husband to drink tea with me

Not Much to Say
On Day 1083...
Well, it has been a busy time since I have been home, but there really isn't much to say. I have been keeping busy, and yet not doing much if that is possible... just going through the motions because if I stop and think I might forget something. So here are a few of the things that have been going on lately in the Z's life:
- Christmas Choir Concert at Church - I am in the choir, so the week leading up the concert was consumed with practices, dress rehearsals and two performances. It was great fun, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
- Christmas Shopping - I finished my family's before Thanksgiving, so it is just A's family, and also A (which I did in 1 hour... yahoo!). I went on a Monday morning to avoid the horrendous crowds at the mall and other Christmas Present type places. :)
- Christmas Tree/Decorating - we try to go and cut a tree down every year, this year we headed west of A'ville to Gentree's Tree Farm... well there is nothing like a HIKE before you look at trees... and I think that realization that we had to carry the tree all the way down the hill with us (in the rain) make an impact of our decision. However, we have a beautiful tree, filled with ornaments that we have collected from different trips we have taken. I love unpacking them and reliving all of the wonderful experiences.
- Lost Party - well, as our weekly TV show is not on again until after the new year, we had a dinner party and a great evening of conversation and laughter. And we played my new favorite game... Whoonu.
- Work Christmas Party - I have definitely decided that the next time I plan a party, it will be in July... when there is not even a hint of any sort of precipitation. This year, we postponed it a week because of bad weather, and then I managed to schedule it for the one rainy day the next week. Where I grew up, you go rain or shine, if you postponed everything for rain/sleet/snow you wouldn't be able to do anything from October to April... but here the hint of anything keeps them inside... it wouldn't matter if it was sunny and 50 outside, it the weather man said that snow might be coming they don't venture out.
- Lazy Saturday - today I am baking Christmasy bread and sending out the few remaining Christmas Cards, listing to Christmas music and just enjoying the weekend.
So there you go, there is a whole lot about nothing. :)

Family
Well, here are some pictures from our recent trip to Utah to see my family, and then my little trip to Idaho to visit Heather, my best friend from college . Nothing in my family goes quickly, or it a small deal... as evidenced by the Christmas Tree. And it wasn't until after I got married and became and intigral part of another family, that I realized life is not as dramatic/crazy for others, but I really enjoy going home and being a part of it all for a little while. :)
