5 Months Old

Time flies when you are having fun I guess. Ben is growing up so fast! He has been sitting up for a little over a month, and has been trying to crawl the past week or so. This morning he scooted so far backward he got himself wedged under my bed while I was in the shower. :) It won't be long before he is completely mobile. It is exciting, but I was hoping the non-mobile stage would last a bit longer... oh well. He is laughing and talking all the time now, and puts everything in his mouth.

And speaking of mouth I have included a few funny pictures from my mini photo-shoot today... :)

Firsts

Benjamin is growing up so fast!!!

Here are a few pictures from a few "firsts" in the past couple of days... Ready for his first dip...
Chillin' with Uncle Ryan
Gettin' his feet wet
Waist deep.

Getting ready for his first meal.
"I;m not so sure now... what is that mush??"
"Hmmm... I think I like it..."

Home Again, Home Again Jiggity Jig

Well, we are finally back home in NC! The first half of the trip back was AWFUL! The airplane was COMPLETELY full, and I had a HUGE man in the seat next to me. About 5 minutes before we took off it got REALLY hot inside and Ben just lost it. He screamed for 10 minutes straight. I have always heard crying babies on an airplane before and never thought much of it but I now have a whole new realm of compassion for crying babies and their mothers. In that moment all you want it for your baby to stop crying, the people to stop staring, or just crawl in a hole. I finally got Ben to calm down after fanning him with the Safety Card. :) The second half was much better and other than being all messed up because of the time change we are home and happy.

The pictures were taken on our second leg, I had the very last row across from the bathrooms. And in case you were wondering about 1 in 4 people use the bathroom on an airplane, and 2 in 50 use it twice during a 2 hour flight and 1 in 50 uses it 3 times. I know you all wanted to know that. :)

Verbal Child

He talks more and more every day.

Where I've Been

Well, it has been far too long... here is a short summary of where I have been, and what I have been doing the past two weeks!

I have been working at Pioneer Bible Camp!! For those of you who don't know, that is the camp I grew up going to. It is around the corner from my parent's house. So I was able to help out for lunch and dinner (all this made possible by Amazing Uncle Nate who babysat most of the time). This is a current picture of the dining hall/chapel. WAAYY different from my day... it was just a big tent when I was a counselor and camper.
Here is some of the kitchen crew I worked with... lovely people. :)
And this is my favorite "uncle" Doug. He has been a head cook there for 21 years, and I am so glad I got to work with him! And this really is his personality in a picture... he calls himself an "equal opportunity harasser" but those of us who know him, we know better... he is just a big teddy bear... he he...

And of course, I was with Benjamin... here he is in a pillow sandwich with Uncle Nate. Ben got a nasty, nasty cold the last two weeks I was in Utah, we ended up taking him to a doctor...so when I wasn't at Camp I am taking care of a sick baby.. thankfully he is doing much, much better!

For Daddy

Sadly, we are not with Andrew on his first Father's Day. Here are a couple videos of Benjamin laughing... hopefully they can help to tide Andrew over until we get home in a little over a week.

These were taken last night on our way home from a friend's house.

Where am I???

I think I may be in Narnia and the White Witch is still ruling the day...

In case you missed it the date is JUNE 13th, that's right JUNE 13th

And yesterday I had to SCRAPE MY WINDSHIELD.

What is this place????

I am not sure why they call is EDEN, Utah because we had snow flurries 2 days ago, and in about 3 months there will be flurries again. Crazy.

A Visit from Heather

Going on walk

On our walk, the mountains across from my parent's house.
Another view on our walk...
At the Mormon Temple

Heather & Ben

We had a great time with Heather this weekend... I wish it could have been longer! You know you have a great friend when you can not talk for 3 months and pick up just where you left off and have real conversations. We also managed to watch a few movies, go to an overnight Women's Retreat at my mom's church, tour the mormon temple and hang out in Salt Lake City for a while before she had to leave us.

Cookout

Well, I don't have a lot of pictures (one of my constant struggles in life is whether or not to just enjoy the moment or enjoy it less but photograph it to remember it always... I opted for the former on the cookout).

We had a 50+ people cookout at my mom's house on Saturday. My brothers had just cleared the area out with a bulldozer and it was a great little place... so here are a few pics...
Here are "The Boys" (Micah, Noah, Nate & Buzz) they had hauled the log about 200 feet, and then made a cool log bench out of it. You can see the fire pit on the left. We made a dutch oven dinner with pulled pork, potatoes, beans, cakes and a fried turkey :)
Bench lifting
Suzi really enjoying her fried turkey leg.
Ben & our friend Amy. Amy gave Ben the cool glasses and flip-flop sandals.
Benjamin & Amy. Ben never did try to take the glasses off, he had them on for over 30 minutes. :) He loved them.

Oh How I Love Juice!!!

Krishnan Family Singers

All 5 Kids have now taken voice lessons... the 4 boys have all had the same teacher. Nate has been taking for a year now, and Buzz has had 2 lessons. I am so proud of Buzz for singing in the recital! Here is a little snippet from each of their songs...

This is Buzz singing a song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat

And here is Nate singing a song about a French chic that died.
