Friends

These pictures remind me of a little jingle I learned when I was young:

These friends are definitely some of the gold in our life. Dave and Jennifer, great friends from our college days, came down for Labor Day weekend (yes, I realize it was 3 weeks ago). We had a wonderful time, despite sickness and a grill that wouldn't cooperate. :) We don't have many friends that we can not see each other for 2 years and then just pick up and have real conversations when we get together... but Dave & Jennifer are like that. We are truly blessed to have them in our life!

Nini

Nini (my mom) came to visit for 2 weeks! Although the majority of the time was taken up, setting up for, actually doing, and breaking down the booth at the fair, we did manage to have a little fun.

Ben and my mom hit it off better than ever before. I don't think it had as much to do with her as it did the Nerds that she brought along, but they had a great time. :) They had Nerd parties with Ben, Nini and Ben's stuffed animals: Piggy, Moolly, Little Bear and Bunny, they read stories, played games and told stories (after I demanded lights out)... and Ben even "slept over" in Nini's room most nights. She will be missed!
We didn't get any pictures while she was here... except these that we took at the airport the morning she left... and I mean morning... which is why the kidlets look a little fuzzy and Ben is still in his pajamas. :)

Where Have I Been?

Well, we are just resurfacing after spending 13 hours a day for 10 days ... Here. Our own little prison... I mean booth. Can you see Naomi in the corner? She was SUCH A TROOPER! Ben got some playdates with friends and lots of daddy time. :) But I was able to meet lots of people so it was worth it!

I had a 10x12 booth at the County fair last week and I had to fit in all into my car. It took some figuring out, but we got it all to fit!

2.5 and all the fun it brings.....

Ben was in need of an activity one morning, so I filled a couple buckets with water and gave him some measuring cups... next thing I knew he had stripped, and this is what I found......


We do have a swimming pool, that I later pulled out, but in the future, I don't know that it is necessary... :)

A friend of mine sells discovery toys and Marbleworks was on sale! So, I got some for Christmas. Ben had a BLAST with the packing peanuts... although I must say that I am so glad my Usborne books come with brown paper and no peanuts... it was fun once but not weekly. :-P


Toys, toys, toys...


Last Saturday we were able to celebrate with our friends Ben & Janae as we celebrated their daughter Abbie's 2nd birthday! We had a great time, although there were a lot of tea parties, play kitchens, beads and foofy dresses. :) I guess this is what we have to look forward to! :)

God Made You

As all of you who have children know, it is hard to let a moment pass without trying to make it a "teachable" moment. Well, here is my attempt:

Ben: Mommy, look! There is the moon!

Leah: Yes! Do you know who made the moon Benjamin?

Ben: who?

L: God did! God made the moon, and the plants and animals. He also made you and me and baby Naomi!

B: Oh. and Daddy too?

L: Yes, and daddy too.

B: Oh mommy! Look at those houses! God made those houses SOOOOO cute!

Hmm....
