These are the Batu Caves, a Hindu temple built within a (limestone) cave. The idol was just built last year and required 10,000 liters of gold paint. :) There are 300 steep stairs, then down 50 or so, and then up another hundred, just in case they didn't finish you off with the 1st 300. It was quite the hike.
