On Day 774...
If any of you ever have a chance to visit NC, and especially if you move here, please keep these things in mind... it will make it much more enjoyable. :)
-Do not go anywhere near Super Walmart for a week after its grand opening. It is the event of the year here in NC and everyone and their cousin (who is also their wife) is there.
-When a complete stranger waves at you while driving... wave back! If you don't, they will be offended. (Just a note...in other parts of the country this is grounds for being shot).
-How do you tell the difference between a "northerner" and a "southerner"? (According to my 10-year-old brother-in-law and his friend). I was informed that southerners are born in the south and listen to country music and northerners are born in the north and listen to rap or hip hop.*

*If you are born in the south, but your parents are from the north you are still considered a northerner, even if you listen to country. LKZ

In Missouri, Super Wal-Marts are on the same par...at least anywhere in MO except St. Louis. In Columbia (collegetown USA), beware of the Super Wal-Mart at the start of each semester.
Here in St. Louis - well, this is a big union town, so we have NO super wal-marts. No kidding. There are some regular wal-marts on the fringes (I live on the fringes, so I have two relatively close to me), but they do not sell much in the way of food. Apparently, all the supermarkets banded together when Super Wal-Mart threatened to hit the area, and it's ILLEGAL for wal-mart to sell a lot of grocery items! Weird, huh?
So where do Missourians fit in on the north/south thing? Technically, we were a slave state so I think that makes us southern, but I doubt many southerners would agree. Unless we split the state in half below the Missouri river. :)
