Whirlwind Visit from Micah!

Micah made a last minute visit down to see us, we managed to still fill the weekend with plenty of things. :)
Family and Tupelo Honey's Sweet Potato Pancakes

Several of my favorite things:  Family, Conversation & Breakfast Food.

Roller Derby
Micah crashed Andrew's very carefully crafted date night.  Drew was a good sport about it... and Micah later watched the kids to make up for it.  :)

Uncle Micah's Cowboy Boots!

Singing

Ben has never really sung in his short life.  :)  Even at two he would say it was silly.  And once in church Andrew asked him to sing and he whispered back, "No daddy, because if I sing in church then mommy will make me sing at home!!"  :)

And then he went to Vacation Bible School at our church.  He learned "Baa Baa White Sheep."  And then a flip just switched and I can't stop him singing!  Here are a few recent videos:

Sourwood Festival

Last weekend I had a booth at the Sourwood Festival in Black Mountain.  Other than rain the first night (thank you Stewart M for wrapping up my books so well!!!!!), the weather was great!  The kids had fun visiting me... they even got to pick out a toy each... Naomi picked a doll and Ben chose an Fly Trap plant, much to his daddy's delight. :)

Naomi Reasoning... :)

Nay-No, Crazy Hair, Nay-Nay...

Above, please note the David (as in David & Goliath) figure we were given from a friend...

Naomi: Mama, is this a boy or dw-uel (girl)??
Leah: Na, it is a boy, that is David.
N: But mama, his hair!!
L: Yes, I know his hair is long, but that is David.
N: But mama, his skirt!!!
L: Yes, but that is David, a boy.
N: But mama, HIS PURSE!!!!

How is one to argue?  She had three very valid points...

Swimming!

Since moving to our Townhouse complex we have spent many many days at the pool.  Ben is learning how to swim without floatys and Naomi has discovered the independence that floatys can bring. :)  Ben loved diving for things, so I wasn't able to get a picture of him.  :)

Boxcar Children

Naomi didn't love it quite as much as Ben.  Ben gobbled up every minute.  They finished a book in a day!  :)
